【摘要】:ThispracticeshouldfirstbeusedtoestablishtheoperatingcharacteristicsofaparticularX-rayphotoelectronspectrometeratatimewhenthespectrometerperformanceisknowntobeoptimum.Hence,thespectrometersettingsinSection5andtheexpectedperformancefiguresgiveninSection7aretobetakenonlyasguides,tobesupplantedbythebehavioroftheuserrsquo;actualspectrometer.Subsequently,thispracticeshouldbeusedasaroutinecheck,performedatfrequentintervalswiththesameinstrumentsettings,andtheresultscomparedwiththoseobtainedin4.1.Significantdeviationfromoptimumperformancemayindicatethatthespectrometerrequiresrecalibrationorothermaintenance.Typicalanalysissettingsshouldbeusedwiththispractice.Theuseofsettingsnotspecifiedbythispracticeislefttothediscretionoftheuser,however,thesettingsshouldberecordedinaccordancewithPracticeE996andthesamesettingsshouldbeusedconsistentlywheneverthispracticeisrepeated,sothattheresultsobtainedwillbedirectlycomparabletopreviousresults.1.1ThispracticecoversaprocedureforcheckingsomeoftheoperatingcharacteristicsofanX-rayphotoelectronspectrometer.Testshereinprovidechecksoftherepeatabilityofintensitymeasurementsandthedriftoftheintensitieswithtime.ThispracticemaybeconductedatthesametimeasthespectrometerenergycalibrationusingPracticeE2108.1.2LimitationsThispracticeismeanttoaugment,andnottoreplace,thecalibrationproceduresrecommendedbythemanufacturerofthespectrometer.ThispracticeisalsonotmeanttobeusedasameansofcomparisonbetweenX-rayphotoelectronspectrometers,butonlyasaself-consistentcheckoftheoperatingcharacteristicsofanindividualspectrometer.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
