【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsdeterminethetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanelsinresponsetostressesactingintheplaneofthepanel.TestMethodA8212;Thistestmethodissuitedtomaterialthatisuniformwithrespecttotensileproperties.Itisnormallyappliedtostructuralpanelsandplywoodofclear,straight-grainedveneers.Itmayalsobeusedtoevaluatethestrengthofscarfandfingerjointsandothermanufacturingprocessvariablesthatcanbeexpectedtoinfluencethetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanelsinauniformmanneracrossthewidthofthesheet.TestMethodB8212;Thistestmethodemployslargetestspecimensandrespondswelltoallmanufacturingvariablesandgrowthcharacteristicsthataffectthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels.Itisrecommendedthatwherecomparisonsaretobemadethatthesametestmethodandspecimensizebeusedthroughout.Thisisbecausethevolumeofmaterialincludedinatestspecimencaninfluencethetensilestrengthregardlessofwhetherthematerialpropertiesareuniformthroughoutthesheetorvarywidelyduetothepresenceofgrowthormanufacturingfeatures.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels.1.2Structuralpanelsinuseincludeplywood,waferboard,orientedstrandboardandcompositesofveneer,andotherwood-basedlayers.1.3TestMethodA,TensileTestforSmallSpecimens:1.3.1Thistestmethodemployssmallspecimensthatshouldhaveareducedcrosssectionatthecenteroftheirlengthtoavoidfailureinthegriparea.Thetransitionfromfullwidthofspecimentoreducedsectionatthecentershouldbegradualtominimizestressconcentration.1.3.2Whenthemeasurementsofelasticpropertiesaretobemade,thelengthofthereducedcrosssectionatthecentershouldbeofsufficientlengthtoaccommodateanextensometer.1.4TestMethodB,TensileTestforLargeSpecimens:1.4.1Thistestmethodemployslargespecimensandrespondswelltomanufacturingvariables,plywoodgrowthcharacteristics,andotherdefectsinfluencingthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels.1.4.2Thetestspecimensarelargeenoughtocontainthemaximumsizeddefectsfoundinplywoodpanels.Thetestspecimenshaveaconstantcrosssectionsincethesizeandlocationofdefectscontrolthelocationoffailuresandtheeffectofstressconcentrationatthegripsisovershadowed.1.4.3Thistestmethodisrecommendedforthefollowing:1.4.3.1Comparativetestsofstructuralpanels,1.4.3.2Determiningtheinfluenceofanyspecificstrengthreducingdefectsonthetensilepropertiesofstructuralpanels,1.4.3.3Determinationoftensilepropertiesofplywoodandcompositescontainingveneerwithgrowthandmanufacturingcharacteristics.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
