【摘要】:KnowledgeofthealdehydecontentofMonoethyleneglycolisrequiredtoestablishwhethertheproductmeetstherequirementsofitsqualityspecifications.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthespectrophotometricdeterminationoftotalaldehydecarbonylcontentintherangeof0.5to50mg/kg(asacetaldehyde)or0.3to35mg/kg(asformaldehyde)inmono-,di-,andtriethyleneglycol(MEG,DEGandTEG).Alkoxyalcohols(hemiacetals),ifpresent,areco-determined,whereasdialkoxyalkanes(acetals),ifpresent,arenot.Theresultsprovideameasureofthepurityofthesamplewithrespecttototalaldehydecarbonylcontent.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3ReviewthecurrentmaterialSafetyDataSheets(MSDS)fordetailedinformationconcerningtoxicity,firstaidproceduresandsafetyprecautions.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Evaluationofrawmaterialcomponentsisavitalandongoingpartofanymanufacturingoperation,especiallywheneachitemcancontributetothetechnicalperformanceofthefinalproduct.Thisstandardmeasuresthebehaviorofmattressedgebindingandsewingthreadduringandafterexposuretoanopenflameignitionsource.Flameresistanceofthecomponentsusedtoclosetheperimeterofamattressisanimportantfactorinlimitingthepotentialofabeddingfirebypreventingthechanceforseamfailure.Datawhichshowacorrelationofbehaviorforboththesewingthreadandedgebindingtape,whentestedasasubassemblyaccordingtothismethod,andalsowhentestedusingafullscalecompositemattressburntest,suchasCaliforniaTB603,canprovidethemanufacturerwithimportantinformation.Thesedatacanbevaluablewhenselectingcomponentstobeusedinthemanufactureofitsproductswhicharedesignedtousemattressedgebindingandsewingthread.Thelevelofperformancerequiredforthesecomponentsis(1)thattheydonotsupporttheafterflame,and(2)thatthesecomponentsdemonstratepostflameexposurecharacteristicswhichcontributetoretainingthestructuralintegrityofthesubassembly.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimenswhichareashomogeneousaspossibleandwhicharefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenbesenttoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent’t-testandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultswithconsiderationtotheknownbias.1.1Thisstandardmeasurestheflammabilitycharacteristicsofmattressedgebindingsandsewingthreadsduringandafterexposuretoanopenflameignitionsource.1.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatethesecomponentseitherindependentlyorincombinationforuseinmattressesdesignedwithafirebarrierfabric.Thetestmethodisusedtoevaluatemattressedgebindingandsewingthreadwhenthedesignrequirestheuseofthesecomponents.1.1.2Thisstandardcanbeusedasascreeningtestmethodtodeterminehowsewingthreadandmattressedgebindingcomponentcombinationswillperform.1.2Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orsubassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.3Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Thistestmethodmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
